As a visual artist, I am interested in themes of memory, loss, and redemption.
Through the process of altering family photographs that I’ve scanned, printed, and cut, I begin to remember and reflect on memories and experiences. I want to understand how the past and present connect, how a narrative is formed and reshaped—an ongoing weaving that I live and love through. Whether with paper strips or quilt squares, the act of taking apart and bringing back together becomes a way to honor what is good and to heal what is broken. The final pieces are an invitation to see redemption where it already is and a supplication for all things to be made new.
About Me
Thanks to my mom, I have been creating, crafting, and making since I was a kid; yet, it wasn't until I took an Intro to Film Photography course at DePauw University that I started to seriously pursue art making. After graduating with a degree in English Literature and a minor in Studio Art, I moved to Louisville, KY.
I’ve been on staff with Sojourn Arts, an arts ministry in a local church, for the past five years, where I get to encourage artists in their creative and spiritual walks. I’ve also been a part of the Misc. Goods Co. team for the past two years, where I help create beautiful products.
In my free time, I love reading with my husband, walking through the woods, and visiting art museums with my sister.
